The 2013 season JJ and Brian both suffered injuries that kept them from playing. JJ's shoulder pain kept him off the mound until he perfected a new pitching motion to avoid pain Brians had ankle injuries early in the season and a hip injury that landed him in the ER and on crutches for a while. At the end of the season he was able to hit but not play the field.

Tougher and Ferguson Named to Collegiate Baseball's Players to Watch List
La Roche baseball players Brian Tougher and Tyler Ferguson have been named to the Collegiate Baseball's NCAA Division III Players to Watch list.
Tougher enters the 2013 campaign after a fantastic freshman season that earned him ECAC and AMCC Rookie of the Year honors and a spot on the AMCC All-Conference Second Team. He led the Redhawks in runs, hits, doubles, RBI, and total bases and ranked in the AMCC's top 10 in batting average, on base percentage, hits, and RBI.
Ferguson finished last season with a 4-2 record and a 4.47 ERA. He ranked in the AMCC top 10 in strikeouts, runs allowed, and opponent batting average. He also registered a win in the Redhawks 3-0 victory over Penn State Behrend in the AMCC Semifinal and started La Roche's first-ever NCAA Tournament game.

Baseball Opens Season With Double Header Sweep of Waynesburg
Waynesburg, PA – La Roche College Baseball (2-0) gets off to a strong start in 2013, sweeping Waynesburg University (0-2) 4-2 and 3-2 in a double header on Saturday.
Tyler Ferguson took the mound for the Redhawks' season opener and got off to a strong start, retiring the first six Waynesburg batters in order. La Roche scored first in the 2nd inning after Brian Tougher singled and later scored on an RBI double by Colin Williamson. Waynesburg answered in the 3rd, taking a 2-1 lead after two hits and two La Roche errors. Waynesburg took the one run advantage into the 7th inning before the Redhawks mounted a comeback. Sean Lubin started the rally after getting hit by a pitch with one out and Shane Healey followed with a single to left. The duo stole second and third before Anthony Girdano smacked a 2 RBI double to left-center. Dan Burns increased the lead to 4-2 with another RBI double to left field. Jesse Bauer shut the door on Waynesburg and picked up his first win of the season with a 1-2-3 inning, capped off by an emphatic strikeout.
The Redhawks pitching staff had an impressive debut, holding Waynesburg to 4 hits and 2 earned runs, while striking out 8. Ferguson started the game and lasted 4 innings, allowing 3 hits and 2 runs (2 ER) with 4 strikeouts. Tim Devine and Walt Hadjuk pitched in relief and combined for a scoreless inning. Bauer recorded the win, striking out 3 and allowing 0 hits and 0 runs over the final two frames.
Shane Healey led off for the Redhawks and went 1 for 3 with a run and two stolen bases. Anthony Girdano went 1 for 4 with 2 RBI's and Brad Goedeker went 2 for 3. La Roche out hit Waynesburg 8 to 4 in the win.
The Redhawks picked up where they left off in the 2nd game, jumping out to an early lead in the first. La Roche never trailed in the game. Healey started the game with a walk before stealing second and third, and later scored on Girdano's RBI double. Ryan Fennell started the game for the Redhawks and retired 5 of the first 6 batters. La Roche scored again in the 3rd inning after an RBI double by Burns. The Jackets answered with a run of their own after a walk and passed ball produced an RBI single in the bottom-half of the frame. The Redhawks manufactured a run in the 5th to take a 3-1 lead. Healey led off with a walk and got to third after a SAC bunt and passed ball, and scored on a SAC fly to right field by Girdano. Waynesburg sliced into the La Roche lead in the 6th, scoring a run on a pair of doubles and chasing Fennell from the game. Bauer stepped in to preserve the win and picked up his first save of the season.
The pitching staff had another strong performance in the 2nd game. Fennell got the win, throwing 5 and 1/3 innings, allowing 2 runs (2 ER) on 6 hits, 1 walk, and 1 strikeout. Bauer threw the final inning and 2/3, recording 2 strikeouts and giving up 0 runs and 0 hits.
Coach Rowe credited the pitching staff for big performances.
"I thought our pitching was key. Bauer got the win in game one and the save in game two and Ferguson and Fennell had quality starts. Our bullpen did their job in some match-up situations."
Healey paced the offense by going 1 for 2 with 3 runs and 2 steals. Anthony Girdano went 1 for 2 with a double and 2 RBI's, while Dan Burns was 1 for 3 with a RBI double.
"It's great to get two wins in our first action of the season, especially against a quality opponent," said Coach Rowe. "We had a lot of great at bats and good two strike hitting. Base running was the key offensively to pick up those two wins."

Baseball Picked to Repeat as AMCC Champions
La Roche College Baseball was picked to repeat as AMCC Conference Champions in the recently released preseason poll. The Redhawks won both the AMCC Regular Season and Tournament Championships in 2012 and also clinched their first-ever bid into the NCAA Tournament where they defeated Westminster College.
La Roche was also selected to win the AMCC Conference Championship by D3Baseball.com and are currently receiving Top 25 votes in its national poll.
Brian Tougher and Jesse Bauer were named Preseason Players to Watch.
In 2012, Tougher was named the ECAC Newcomer of the Year, the AMCC Newcomer of the Year, and an All-Conference Third Team performer. He finished seventh in the AMCC in batting average and hit .397 with 10 doubles and 40 RBI.
Bauer posted a 2.58 ERA and struck out 49 batters while walking just 14 as the Redhawks' closer last season. He was also an All-Conference Third Team selection.

No. 7 Marietta Edges Redhawks 8-5
MARIETTA, OH – The Redhawks out-hit #7 Marietta (10-4) 14-12 but La Roche Baseball (11-4) fell to the 2-time defending National Champions 8-5 in a non-conference game on Wednesday.
La Roche starting pitcher Ian Kelly did not allow a baserunner until the third inning when Marietta took a 2-0 lead. The Pioneers added 2 more runs in the fourth inning before the Redhawks tied it up with 4 runs in the top of the fifth inning.
Shane Healey doubled to lead off the inning and Lubin singled to left field moving Healey to third base. Marietta pitcher Stephen Bascom tried to pick off Lubin during the next at bat but overthrew the first baseman allowing Healey to score from third base. Brian Tougher followed with an RBI double to right field and two batters later Anthony Girdano doubled to left to score Tougher. Andrew Zeger singled down the left field line to tie it at 4-4.
Marietta scored twice in the bottom half of the fifth inning but an RBI double by Tougher cut the deficit to just one run. The Redhawks had runners at first and second base in the top of the ninth inning but a groundout ended the game.
Tougher went 3 for 5 with 2 doubles, 2 RBIs, and a run scored. Girdano registered 3 hits, was hit by a pitch, drove in a run, and scored, and Williamson reached twice and scored. Lubin singled twice and scored and Zeger had 2 hits including an RBI single.
Redhawks' starter Ian Kelly threw 4 innings and allowed 4 runs on 4 hits while striking out 3 batters and walking 2. Walt Hadjuk (0-1) gave up 2 runs on 4 hits in 1 2/3 innings of work to record the loss and Adam Rosseau and Tim Devine allowed a run each in 2 1/3 combined innings.

Redhawks Sweep Pitt-Greensburg in AMCC Conference Opener
PITTSBURGH, PA – La Roche Baseball (13-4, 2-0) opened AMCC Conference play with a 6-2, 4-0 double-header sweep of Pitt-Greensburg (1-11, 0-2) on Friday. The win is their 16th straight at John Arnold Sr. Memorial Field and their 9th straight against AMCC competition dating back to last season.
Anthony Girdano singled home Brian Tougher in the top of the fourth to break open a scoreless Game 1 tie and the Redhawks added 5 more runs in the fifth inning to go up 6-0. Matt Sabitini, Andrew Zeger, and Colin Williamson led off the fifth with three straight singles before Sabitini and Zeger scored on an error by the third baseman. Sean Lubin singled home Williamson and proceeded to steal second and third base, and scored on a single by Tougher. Tougher added a run on an RBI single by Dan Burns.
Pitt-Greensburg scored twice in the 6th inning but pitchers James Connelly and Jesse Bauer combined to hold the Bobcats to just 2 runs.
Tougher went 2 for 4 with 2 runs, an RBI, and a stolen base. Burns registered 2 hits including an RBI single and Lubin singled, stole 2 bases, and scored. Sabitini, Zeger, and Williamson reached and scored and Girdano added an RBI.
Connelly (4-0) recorded the victory to win his school-record twentieth career game and ninth decision in a row. He did not allow an earned run in 6 innings and allowed just 3 hits and 2 walks while striking out 3 batters. Jesse Bauer pitched a 1-2-3 seventh inning of relief.
The Redhawks success continued into Game 2 when they took a 2-0 lead in the top of the third inning. Williamson and Shane Healey singled to start off the inning and both runners moved into scoring position on a sacrifice bunt by Lubin. Williamson scored the game's first run on a groundout to second base by Tougher and Burns followed with a walk to put runners at the corners. Healey stole home in the next at bat to go up 2 runs.
La Roche added RBI singles in the fifth and seventh innings to go up 4-0 and Redhawks' starter Tyler Ferguson threw a gem to hold Pitt-Greensburg scoreless.
Tougher had a 2 RBI single and Williamson scored twice and stole a base. Burns singled, drew a walk, and was hit by a pitch, and Sabitini and Healey got on base and scored.
Ferguson (3-2) was dominant on the mound striking out a career-high 11 batters including 6 in a row between the first and third innings. He allowed just 4 hits and 5 total baserunners to record his first-career complete game shutout.

Ferguson Tabbed as ECAC South and AMCC Pitcher of the Week, Tougher Wins AMCC Player of the Week
La Roche Baseball pitcher Tyler Ferguson was named the ECAC South and AMCC Pitcher of the Week and third baseman Brian Tougher was named the AMCC Player of the Week for the week of April 1, 2013.
Ferguson threw a complete game shutout in a 4-0 win over Pitt-Greensburg. The sophomore allowed just 4 hits and struck out 11 batters in 7 innings of work. Ferguson ranks fourth in the AMCC in opposing batting average (.239), second in innings pitched (31.1), second in strikeouts (25), and tied for third in batters struck out looking (7).
Tougher hit .545 (6 for 11) with 5 RBI, 3 runs, and 2 doubles in a 2-1 week. He went 3 for 5 against #7 Marietta, with 2 RBI and 2 doubles. In a sweep over Pitt-Greensburg, the sophomore hit .500 with 3 RBI and 2 runs scored.

Redhawks Outlast Thiel in Twelve Innings 9-6
GREENVILLE, PA –Dan Burns singled home Sean Lubin in the bottom of the twelfth inning as La Roche Baseball (14-4) outlasted Thiel College (9-9) 9-6 in a PAC vs. AMCC matchup on Wednesday night.
"This was a great comeback win for us," said Coach Rowe. "Ian Kelly was huge in relief today and it was good to see the team have a refuse to lose attitude."
James Connelly got the starting nod and held Thiel scoreless for 5 innings while the Redhawks took a 5-0 advantage. Lubin, Brian Tougher, Tyler Marrero, Colin Williamson, and Tyler Craig scored runs, while Lubin, Burns, Tougher, Anthony Girdano, and Shane Healey provided RBIs.
Thiel got on the board with an RBI groundout in the bottom of the sixth inning and added 5 runs in the seventh including a home run to take a 6-5 lead. However, La Roche responded with a Girdano RBI single in the top of the eighth inning and 4 perfect innings of relief from Ian Kelly.
The Redhawks scored 3 runs in the top of the twelfth inning including the winning RBI from Burns and Jesse Bauer threw a scoreless bottom half of the inning to earn the save.
Six Redhawks reached base 4 times including Lubin, Girdano, and Craig who each registered 3 hits. Girdano and Burns provided 2 RBIs a piece and Tougher scored 3 runs. Lubin scored twice and swiped 2 bases, and Craig, Marrero, and Williamson each scored. Lubin, Tougher, and Shane Healey provided RBI hits in the win.
The 12-inning game was La Roche's second during Coach Rowe's tenure. The Redhawks also won an important 6-5 dozen inning game over Penn State Behrend last season.

Girdano Belts Homer as Redhawks Extend Home Win-Streak to 17
PITTSBURGH, PA – La Roche Baseball (15-4) extended their win-streak to four games and home win-streak to 17 with a decisive 12-1 victory over Bethany College (3-11) on Thursday.
Tyler Ferguson took the mound for the Redhawks and delivered another impressive performance en route to his fourth win of the season. La Roche's aggressive offense struck early and often, creating a large deficit that the Bison could not overcome.
Shane Healey reached base on an error to open the bottom half of the 1st and stole second before Brian Tougher was hit by a pitch. The duo stole second and third to set up Dan Burns with a 2 RBI single. Anthony Girdano followed with a double and a RBI groundout by Colin Feikles plated the Redhawks' third run of the inning. La Roche picked up another run in the second frame after Jon Watson led off with a triple and scored on an RBI single by Darryl Robinson.
The Redhawks stepped on the gas and busted the game open in the 4th inning. Watson once again led off with an extra base hit, this time a double, before Robinson's second RBI single brought him home. Healey followed with an RBI double of his own and Sean Lubin reached on an RBI single. Lubin created havoc on the base paths, stealing second and third before scoring on an errant pick-off attempt by the catcher. The inning continued with a single by Burns and was capped off with a towering two-run homerun to left by Girdano, pushing the lead to 10-0.
La Roche would plate another run in the 5th inning on an RBI groundout from Tyler Craig. Bethany answered in the top of the 6th after back-to-back hits created the lone run of the day for the Bison. The Redhawks would score the final run of the game in the 7th to put the lead at 12-1.
Tyler Ferguson (4-2) tossed 5 shutout innings, struck out three and allowed just two base runners. Walt Hadjuk pitched two innings in relief, allowing one earned run on two hits, while striking out two. Adam Rousseau threw the final two innings for the Redhawks, striking out one and allowing one hit.
The balanced offensive attack was overwhelming for the Bison pitchers. Healey went 2-5 with a double, 3 runs scored, 1 RBI, and 2 stolen bases. Lubin was 3-4 with 2 runs scored, 1 RBI, and 2 stolen bases. Burns went 2-3 with 2 runs and 2 RBI. Girdano was 2-3 with a homerun, 2 runs, and 2 RBI. Watson went 2-5 with a triple and a double, while scoring 2 runs. Robinson was 2-3 with a run scored and 2 RBI.

Redhawks Remain Undefeated in AMCC With 8-1, 8-0 Sweep of Hilbert
PITTSBURGH, PA – La Roche Baseball's (17-4, 4-0) hot start continued with an 8-1, 8-0 sweep of Hilbert College (2-16, 1-5)on Saturday in AMCC Conference play. The victory extends the Redhawks' home win-streak to 19 games and overall win-streak to 6 games.
Redhawks' pitcher Cole Lentz got the starting nod in Game 1 and held Hilbert to just one run until La Roche broke out the bats later in the game.
La Roche took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the second inning when Colin Williamson hit a short roller to third to score Brad Goedeker. Hilbert's Paul Wujeck stole home in the fourth to tie it up but La Roche answered in the bottom of the inning when Matt Sabitini singled home Williamson.
The visiting Hawks loaded the bases with two outs and a full count in the top of the fifth inning but Lentz struck out Ryan Ilardi to end the threat.
La Roche broke out the bats in the sixth with a series of two-out hits. Goedeker legged out a triple to deep right-center field and Williamson followed with a liner down the left field line for his second RBI of the game. Sabitini notched an RBI single to left field and Watson hit a double to the left field wall to make it a five run game. Healey then scored on an error by the Hilbert shortstop and Tyler Craig singled to left-center for the Redhawks's final run.
Sabitini went 2 for 3 with 2 RBIs and a run scored and Watson had an RBI triple and scored. Goedeker tripled and scored twice and Shane Healey registered three hits, scored and hit in a run.
Lentz gave up just 1 run on 2 hits and struck out 7 batters and Jesse Bauer netted his sixth save of the season after two scoreless innings.
The Redhawks hot bats continued into the second half of the double-header and quality pitching from Ryan Fennell led La Roche to a Game 2 victory.
Healey led off the game with a triple to right-center field and scored on a wild pitch by Hilbert's starter Colby Parachoniak. Brian Tougher then walked, stole second, and scored, and Brian Herb doubled and scored. Williamson smacked an RBI double to go up 4-0 at the end of the first.
La Roche added two runs in the second and fifth innings to take an 8-0 lead. An error by the Hilbert right fielder scored Watson, and Dan Burns had an RBI single to right field scoring Sean Lubin. Girdano doubled to right field and scored in the fifth inning and Herb rounded the bases on an error by the third baseman.
Ryan Fennell pitched a terrific game to register his second career complete game shutout. He allowed just 5 hits and struck out 4 batters in seven innings of work and got quality play behind him including a diving catch in center by Colin Williamson.
Healey and Watson registered 2 hits each and Dan Burns, Brian Herb, and Colin Williamson notched RBIs. Herb and Anthony Girdano scored twice, and Healey, Lubin, Tougher, and Watson scored a run each.

Redhawks Fall to Former Conference Foe in Extra Innings
PITTSBURGH, PA – A 2-out RBI single in the bottom of the ninth inning sent it into extra innings but the Redhawks (17-5) fell in eleven innings to former conference rival Frostburg State (18-11) 10-7. The loss ends their school-record 19 game home win-streak.
The visiting Bobcats took a 3-0 lead in the top half of the first inning on a pair of sacrifice flies and a 2-out RBI single to centerfield, but La Roche cut the lead to two in the bottom of the third inning.
Sean Lubin hit a 1-out RBI single to left field and advance to second base when the ball skipped underneath the left fielder's mitt. Lubin proceeded to steal third base and Brian Tougher came through in the next at bat with a groundout to second.
The Redhawks added three more runs in the bottom of the fifth inning to take a 4-3 lead. Matt Sabatini and Jon Watson walked and Lubin followed with an RBI double to centerfield. Watson came home on a wild pitch by Frostburg State's starter Cody Ellsworth and Dan Burns put down a safety squeeze to score Lubin.
Frostburg State answered with an RBI double and sacrifice fly in the sixth inning and added two more runs in the ninth inning to take a 7-4 lead.
The Redhawks came through with a huge bottom of the ninth inning to send it into extra innings. Pinch hitter Andrew Zeger lined a single to left field before Lubin's RBI triple cut the deficit to one run. Brian Tougher followed with an RBI single and La Roche tied it when Franzee Barlamas scored from first base on a hit and run single by Dan Burns to send it into extras.
Frostburg State scored on an RBI double, triple, and sacrifice fly in the top of the eleventh inning and hung on.
Lubin led the Redhawks on offense with a 5 for 6 day including a double, triple, 3 runs, 2 RBI, and a stolen base. Tougher contributed 2 RBI and Girdano added one. Barlamas, Sabatini, Watson, and Zeger all scored runs in the La Roche loss.
Redhawks' starter Ian Kelly threw 5 innings and allowed 4 runs on 3 hits and Tim Devine tossed 2 scoreless innings.

#7 SUNY Cortland Edges Redhawks 2-1 in Non-Conference Game
PITTSBURGH, PA – La Roche (19-6) pitchers' Ryan Fennell, Walt Hadjuk, and Tim Devine held Cortland State (20-8) to just 2 runs but the nation's seventh ranked team was able to hang on for a 2-1 victory in a non-conference game on Saturday.
Cortland State notched 2 runs in the first inning but Fennell found his groove and held the Red Dragons in check for the rest of the game. He forced Cortland State to hit into inning ending double plays in the second, third, and fourth innings and did not allow an extra base hit past the first inning.
The Redhawks got on the board in the bottom of the sixth inning with three consecutive singles. Sean Lubin and Anthony Girdano reached on 2-out hits before Dan Burns singled home Lubin to cut the deficit to just one run.
The Red Dragons looked like they were going to answer in the top half of the next inning but Fennell was able to strand a runner in scoring position after giving up a leadoff hit. Devine came in the eighth inning and left runners at second and third base, but La Roche managed just one hit over the final three innings as Cortland State hung on for the win.
Fennell held Cortland to just 2 runs and struck out 7 over 7 innings of work. Hadjuk and evine combined for 2 scoreless innings in relief.
Burns went 2 for 4 with a double and Lubin singled and scored. Girdano provided 2 hits and Goedeker, Williamson, and Sabatini added one each.
La Roche Baseball returns to the field tomorrow when they travel to St. Vincent College. Shane Healey and Brian Tougher each had 3 hits in a 7-1 win over the Bobcats last season.

Williamson Homers in Double-Header Split With Behrend
Erie, PA - The La Roche baseball team (21-8, 7-1) split a double-header with Penn State Behrend (20-8, 11-1) on Thursday, losing the first game 3-0 and winning the second 6-3. The Redhawks handed the conference leading Lions their first loss in AMCC play and are now 4 games back of first.
James Connelly took the mound for the Redhawks in game one and had another strong outing. Connelly (4-1) threw 4.2 innings, giving up 1 run (0 ER) on 3 hits, 1 walk, and 3 strikeouts, but was tagged for his first loss of the season.
Led by Ryan Jacobs, who was coming off an impressive perfect game in his last outing, the Lions' pitching staff stymied the Redhawks' offense to 4 hits and 0 runs over 7 innings. Sean Lubin, Brian Tougher, Dan Burns, and Matt Sabatini recorded hits in the loss.
The Redhawks' bats came alive in the second game, which was a back and forth affair in the opening frames. La Roche took an early lead in the first inning after a bunt single by Lubin and single to right field by Tougher that put runners at first and third. Burns brought the run home on an RBI groundout to first to take a 1-0 lead. Penn State Behrend answered in the bottom of the 2nd after a leadoff single and sac bunt allowed the Lions to tie the game at 1-1 with a two-out RBI single to right. La Roche did not take long to regain the lead. Shane Healey singled to left field in the top of the 3rd and advanced into scoring position after a sac bunt by Lubin. Tougher picked up a two-out RBI of his own with a single down the right field line to take a 2-1 lead. The Lions roared back after a walk and back-to-back hits plated 2 runs in the bottom of the 3rd inning. Tyler Craig tied things up in the 4th inning with a two-out RBI single to left field that plated Anthony Girdano.
The game remained tied until Colin Williamson blasted a home run to left field in the top of the 6th to put La Roche ahead for good at 4-3. The rally was just getting started, as two-out walks to Sabatini and Craig put runners in scoring position for Brian Herb, who increased the Redhawks' lead to 6-3 with a 2 RBI knock to right field.

Lentz, Fennell Pitch Redhawks to Sweep
PITTSBURGH, PA – La Roche Baseball (23-8, 9-1) swept a double-header with Pitt-Bradford (9-13, 5-5) to extend their conference win-streak to 16 games at John Arnold Memorial Field.
Pitt-Bradford had a chance to take an early lead in Game 1 but La Roche starter Cole Lentz got out of the first inning unscathed.
The Lions loaded the bases with no outs and their #3 hitter up, Derek Smith. Lentz struck Smith out to record the first out and Colin Williamson made a diving catch in centerfield to get the second out. Lentz then worked himself out of the jam with pop fly to leftfield to end the inning and swing momentum towards La Roche in what would become a low-scoring affair.
The Redhawks took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the fourth inning. Sean Lubin reached on an error to lead off the frame and scored two batters later when Dan Burns picked up an RBI single through a drawn in infield.
Pitt-Bradford tied it with a run in the fifth to force extra innings and went up 2-1 in the top of the ninth inning before La Roche evened it up in the bottom of the ninth.
The Redhawks responded after a leadoff walk by Anthony Girdano and bunt-single by Colin Williamson set up Franzee Barlamas for a safety squeeze to tie the game up at 2-2.
Pitt-Bradford had a chance to take the lead in the top half of the next inning but a terrific defensive effort by La Roche kept it tied. Derek Smith attempted to tag up from third base on a fly out to left field but Girdano delivered a strike to the plate for an inning ending double play.
Shane Healey led off the bottom of the tenth with a single down the right field line and stole second to advance into scoring position. Brian Tougher delivered a walk-off hit with a sharp single into left-center to bring home Healey and pick up the win 3-2.
Lentz threw 6 innings and allowed just 1 run on 4 hits while striking out 11 batters. Healey and Tougher registered 2 hits each and Healey, Lubin, and Girdano scored runs. Tougher, Burns, and Baralamas produced RBIs.
Healey got things started in Game 2 with a leadoff single in the bottom of the first and Lubin followed with a single to centerfield to advance Healey to third. Healey was thrown out trying to score from third but Lubin moved up to third on the play and scored on a Burns' bunt. Girdano was then hit by a pitch to load the bases and Goedeker recorded an RBI on a fielder's choice to take a 2-0 lead.
The Redhawks opened things up in the bottom of the fourth. Things got started with back-to-back singles by Sabatini and Tyler Craig. Healey picked up an RBI on a sac fly to right field that scored Sabatini and Lubin singled before Tougher notched a 2-RBI singled increase the lead to 5-0.
Ryan Fennell threw a 2-hit complete game shutout to record the win. He had a no-hitter into the fifth inning but lost it with a seeing-eye single through the right side of the infield.
Lubin went 3 for 4 with 2 runs and Sabatini finished with 2 hits. Tougher contributed 2 RBI and Healey and Goedeker added 1 each. Tougher, Sabatini, and Craig scored runs in the win.

Redhawks Ranked Third in NCAA Regional Rankings
For the first time in program history, La Roche College baseball is ranked in the NCAA Regional Rankings. The Redhawks are ranked third in the Mideast Region and behind only Marietta College, the two-time defending national champions, and #15 Manchester.
La Roche at three is the highest an AMCC Conference team has ever been ranked.

Baseball Seventh in Final Regional Rankings
La Roche Baseball is ranked for the third consecutive week and in the final week of NCAA Regional Rankings. They are seventh in the Mideast Region and the only ranked team from the AMCC Conference.

Redhawks Quest For Second Straight AMCC Championship Comes Up Short
ERIE, PA – La Roche Baseball's (29-14) quest for a second consecutive AMCC Conference Championship fell just short as they dropped the title game to Penn State Behrend (30-10) 9-5.
La Roche scored twice in the first and one more time in the second to take an early 3-0 lead. Sean Lubin reached base in the first with a fielder's choice and Brian Tougher singled through the right side to advance Lubin to third base. Dan Burns, who hit for the cycle in the semifinal against Mt. Aloysius, laid down a sac bunt to score Lubin and Anthony Girdano flied out to right to take a 2-0 lead. In the second inning, Jon Watson hit a leadoff double down the left field line and scored on a Shane Healey single to go up three runs.
Penn State Behrend took a 7-3 lead in the third inning with a sacrifice fly and a few defensive miscues before La Roche got one back in the bottom of the fourth when Watson singled and scored. The Redhawks added one more run in the eighth inning when Girdano and was hit by and pitch and singled home by Watson.
La Roche then loaded the bases with two outs and the tying run at the plate, but they attempted to score on a wild pitch and ended up stranding runners at all three bases.
Pitcher Jesse Bauer threw a perfect bottom half of the eighth inning but the Redhawks could not manage a run in the top of the ninth as Penn State Behrend held on for the win.
Watson continued to swing a hot bat going 3 for 4 with a double, 2 runs, and an RBI. Girdano and Lubin each had an RBI and scored, and Healey and Burns notched RBIs. Tougher singled and scored for the Redhawks.
Ryan Fennell got the start the start and gave up 2 earned runs (4 runs) on 1 hit and Walt Hadjuk and Jesse Bauer allowed an earned run each in 3 innings of relief.

Redhawks Close Out Record Winning Season With Loss in ECAC Semifinal
PITTSBURGH, PA – La Roche Baseball (29-15) fell to Waynesburg University (21-18) 5-4 in an ECAC Tournament Semifinal Matchup on Wednesday afternoon.
Waynesburg scored four unearned runs in the top of the first inning before La Roche got a run back in the bottom half of the inning. A pair of walks to Sean Lubin and Tyler Craig set the table for Brian Tougher, who lined an RBI single into left field to make it a 4-1 game after one inning of play.
La Roche starter Tyler Ferguson settled down in the second inning and allowed just 3 baserunners in the next five innings to give the Redhawks a chance. La Roche stranded runners in the third and fourth innings but answered with two runs in the sixth inning to cut the deficit to just one run.
Craig and Tougher both walked to lead off the sixth and Anthony Girdano reached on an error to short to score Craig. Fiekles followed with an RBI ground out to second to get within one.
Waynesburg scored in the top of the seventh to take a 5-3 lead before Girdano lined a sacrifice fly to right field in the bottom of the eighth to make it a 5-4 game. However, Waynesburg relief pitcher Brian Resnick threw a perfect ninth inning to preserve the one run win.
Tougher went 2 for 3 with an RBI single and a run scored and Craig reached base three times and scored all three times. Girdano provided a hit and 2 RBI and Lubin got on base twice and stole a base.
Starting pitcher Tyler Ferguson tossed six innings and allowed 4 runs but no earned runs on 3 hits while striking out 6 batters. Ian Kelly gave up an unearned run in an inning of work and James Connelly and Jesse Bauer each threw an inning of scoreless relief.
